New Year, New Aim

After a year of Science in Hwa Chong, I learnt that science in secondary school is very different from the science in primary school. I realize that science is not about memorizing theories and laws, instead it is about understanding what we learn. In secondary one, I had this misconception which caused me to get a C6 for 2 terms which, in the end, affected my overall grade. I didn't know that my idea of science was wrong which is why I scored so badly though I spent a lot of time studying before the exams.
I lost my hopes after trying 2 terms but failing to achieve an A1. However, I realized my mistakes and decided to study in a different way. Though I had the revision methods right, I was still unable to be exceptionally well due to the lack of knowledge I have which is caused by me not paying attention in class. I realized the importance of paying close attention during lectures and ensure I get the information right. Listening in class is so many times better than finding the knowledge yourself because if we listen out for the key points and know what the teacher wants us to learn, we will be 100% clear what will be tested for the test and hence will be able to study the things tested and not study the things that are irrelevant.
Hence before the year starts, I will like to set some rules for myself and also a few targets to ensure I achieve my A1s this year. I hope to achieve at least an overall A2 for the whole year and ensure that I score more in terms of Oral Participation. I hope that I will pay full attention in class and clarify whenever I am in doubt.
With all the targets and rules in mind, I hope that this year will be a successful and fruitful year!
