RE: Article 1

After reading the article, I have many thoughts that I will like to share. I feel that prevention is better than cure. The articles talks about how hard it is to come out with a vaccine that will either cure people that have AIDs or make people immune to it. The reason why it is so hard is because of the constant mutation. A virus can mutate itself which makes it tricky to find a cure to it because the virus itself will find ways to make it immune to the vaccine. However, scientists are now full of hope as they will have a larger pool of stem cells to choose from which give them higher chances of identifying a vaccine to it.

AIDs is a disease that affects your nervous system which will cause your whole body’s immune system to shut down which will give you chances of being infected by other diseases which will lead to many complications. It is normally spread through three ways: Sharing of needle when taking drug, sexual intercourse and also perinatal transmission where the mother passes the disease to the foetus. The last cause is unpreventable however, the first two cause is. I feel that some day, there will definitely be a vaccine to diseases like AIDs however, it will take maybe decades or years later because finding stem cells for the different 93 trends of the disease is hard but possible. Hence I feel that if everyone prevents themselves being infected with the disease, maybe the disease will die out and AIDs might not exist anymore and it might be a better solution to the problem.
